Ozonna Soludo

British funk pop sensation, Ozonna Soludo, recently moved to New York where he met up with sought after, music video director, Blake Farber, in regards to creating two new music videos for his up and coming US debut album. Ozonna Soludo, son of Nigerian economist and World Bank consultant, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, was born in Nigeria but moved to London at a very young age where he quickly discovered his love and talent for making music.  Oz studied at the London Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, from where his professional career started at the young age of 19.  His music brings together eclectic rich sounds which testifies to his intercontinental cultural background. Blake, best known for his work with Beyonce, aimed in getting back to Oz’s African routes by setting his sights on South Africa as the perfect filming location for the two videos, Wonderland and Believe It.  Mannequin Films co-produced and facilitated both videos which was shot in the Johannesburg region.    ...

Twisting Fate

Twisting Fate is a coming of age drama which follows the story of Claire, a French teen who’s family is killed in a tragic accident whilst on holiday in South Africa.  Unable to face the reality of her incredible loss, she sets off on a road trip through out the country. Mannequin Films was approached by French production companies Bonne Pioche as well as La Voie Lactee to co-producer and facilitate, Twisting Fate.  Directed by Christophe Lioud and starring up and coming actress Noemie Merlant, who is fast busy becoming a French cinema household name, Twisting Fate was adapted from Jean-Baptiste Destremau’s novel Si Par Hasard. Ninety percent of the film was shot in South Africa over a period of six weeks at the end of 2014.  Locations ranged from Cape Town, the majestic Cederberg, Clanwilliam, Ceres, Hartebeespoort Dam as well as the quaint town of Heidelberg, which is 40 km outside of Johannesburg.  It featured various South African talent, such as Melodie Abad, Roberta Fox as well as French acclaimed actor, Daniel Lobé, who is known for films such as Sahara and Love and Other Disasters.  The film is currently in post production and is set for release at the end of 2015....

Hermes Hermes is a major French fashion brand who recently shot their TVC campaign for their latest range of luxury watches on one of Cape Town’s many white sand beaches.  The commercial is the very epitome of French chic by keeping it simple with nothing, but two choreographed models dancing against a backdrop of the grey waters of the Cape coast.  The Hermes commercial was shot over a period of 3 days and was released in August, this year.  Bringing with it a sense of style and sophistication, Hermes goes the extra mile to make sure the world knows that they are a brand to reckon with.  This TVC showcases French fashion and style at its best.  The commercial was shot in association with the French production company, Les Telecreateurs.  Mannequin Films, facilitated the production by making use of many of Cape Town’s most talented local crew.  The production proved to be a major success and the video is now available onYouTube:   PRODUCTION:  Hermes Cape Cod – TELEVISION...

SINGAM 2 Singam 2 is the blockbuster sequel to Singam, which shows Duraisingam (Suriya), as he this time goes on an undercover mission to take down a notorious drug lord.  This fast-paced action, was partly shot in Durban, with high-speed chase scenes, intense fight sequences as well as city centre shoot outs making up the majority of the film.  The filmed offered opportunity to many top local talent as well as renowned UK actor, Danny Sapani to form part of this exciting project.  The film broke records during it’s opening week at the box office and still remains to be one of Bollywood’s favourite action films.  The film was produced by Prince pictures and Studio Green and facilitated by Mannequin Films in South Africa.  Production: Feature Film...

With a rich history stretching over 200 years, Orange takes pride in the fact that they revolutionised the market with per second billing when they launched in the UK.  In 2010 the brand headed for South Africa ready to start filming their official Cup of Nations commercial.  Off course, Mannequin Films was ready and waiting only to provide the best in film facilitation services to Voodoo Communications.  The Orange commercial was filmed at various soccer stadiums in and around Johannesburg and proved to be a big success....
